‘Volvo Hippies’ is a hell of a phrase. Simple yet incredibly descriptive. I’m for sure stealing it for daily use.

I can't believe Godfrey mentioned the St. Paul Pearl Jam shows without bringing up that Boom was at SZD Live!

I have two nonprofessional pieces of mental health advice as a 45 year old that I think have kept me in a good place for a long time, one sports team related and one general life related.

1. Purdue has stunk at football for most of the last 15 years or so, and should be bad for the near future, but I've accepted that, and instead fill my Saturdays in the fall with a lot of time outside, walking the dogs, going on nice long runs, and doing yard work, so I'm not parked in front of the TV watching my team lose.

2. In 2015, as a single person, I decided that I was going to stop skipping trips/concerts/movies because I didn't have anyone to go with, because that was preventing me from doing things that I wanted to do. More importantly, I long ago accepted that how I thought my life would turn out and what society thinks about how your life is supposed to go doesn't mean shit, as long as I'm happy the way things are going. I've found other things that I'm interested in that are important, and I'm giving back to the community in other ways and being a productive member of society.

Laramie advice is DEAD on. It made me miss the food so bad. I think he described J’s Prairie Rose for smothered breakfast burritos. Go Pokes!

Just a heads up, the Magic Mind code isn’t working. I keep getting a Coupon "SPLITZONE20" doesn't exist or isn't valid anymore. Error at checkout.

Can you guys not do a 20 minute ad for some some scammy brain supplement again please? That was brutal. Or at least keep it off the show I'm already paying you for?

Godfrey is so right about the folks in Laramie. I tried to do some pre-scouting on twitter about going to the Texas Tech game and kinda got nothing, so me and my buddy were just sort of walking around, but when we got to our seats, all the folks around us were like "Why'd you come to a Wyoming game?" and when we explained, they were super cool. The folks in front of us just brought us a pizza from the concession stand, while the folks behind us made sure to let us know before we left to let us know next time we came to a game so they could take us out for a drink before the game. Everyone was so awesome. Just a fantastic place to see a game.

Laramie description is mostly accurate. Only thing I would say is that the state of Wyoming really isn't LDS country, although plenty of BYU fans will come up from Utah and Colorado. The religious divide is one of a few reasons why that rivalry is so heated. (Fun fact: back in the old WAC days, the only hotel in the area that would take the BYU team was a Foster's truck stop that didn't even have functioning locks. The team had to do walk-throughs in a dirt lot out back while Wyo fans would cuss them out). That game should be a blast.

Also, Colo-Mex is the name of the regional Mexican food. Besides the hearty portions and deep fried burritos, they also utilize regional ingredients like Pueblo chiles and green chili sauce.

For whatever reason I read the description the first time as "the Jimmy Sexton era of parenting", and now I really need to know how we think he would approach screen time management and picky eaters.
