The best part about OSU’s 45 national title is how unserious most of us take it. Like, there were t-shirts folks wore ironically, and people took pictures, but it’s (fortunately) never been that big of a thing for most Pokes.
Got around to listening to this and I was shocked the day alumni wasn't happy with my UCF Knights claim. Truly shocked. All serious, great topic and explanation of the crazy sport we love.
Great discussion! Especially appreciated the 1942 UGA shoutout; my granddad played HB on that team (just casually backed up a Heisman winner and another HOFer in Sinkwich and Trippi). I knew it was a split championship with OHST (even though the poll was before a bowl, where UGA beat UCLA in the Rose Bowl and OHST didn’t play a bowl). Didn’t realize the school didn’t recognize it until Dooley declared it!
My granddad was a longtime UGA booster, and my uncle played for Coach Bowden’s first team at FSU and has worked with the FSU athletic dept for 30 years or so. Between the UGA & FSU ties, I’d be shocked if Keith hadn’t crossed paths with some of my folks at some point!
Haven't listened yet but hoping way number one, in bold all caps, is that there was a national championship game and you didn't even play in it, let alone win it. Any championship claimed under those circumstances is by definition bogus *cough* USC *cough* UCF *cough*

I do have to respect how OKST fans have made a small enough deal about this that I 100% forgot this even happened between 2017 and us recording.
I act proud about it online because it gets under Sooner skin.
Some dork defending the strength of schedule of Michigan PT boat is as dumb as Oklahoma States defenders however

Very cool. Small world we have here.
Still waiting on Clemson to claim the 1900 championship. As God intended. Undefeated and untied!
