Offended at Richard’s suggestion that Illinois could pull a South Carolina because the schedule lets up… The whole thing that made South Carolina interesting was that the schedule was fairly tough! 4 wins vs top 25 teams in 5 weeks!
(Aware of the irony of comparing these two teams, but it was a bowl game that doesn’t help my point so GET IT OUTTA HERE!)
SZD is never beating the “we don’t like Michigan” allegations. That was the fastest preview of a team that wasn’t going to be God awful this season. Handwave the def, no discussion of the run game or new OC. A hat tip to what they think will be a worse OL that should actually improve. A little Underwood talk to but not much else about a much improved QB room. Wisconsin and Purdue got more talk than Michigan. Ah well, I’ll just cry into this national title trophy.
I'm a Purdue guy, and I can name 2.5 players on the team, Mockobee, Ryan Browne, and some guy named Malachi, which is about 9.5 less players than I can name on the hoops team.
Also, if you really think Ryan Walters didn't have the horses on defense, go back and check your other previews and note the players on playoff teams that were Boilers last year. Walters had a defense that gave up 60+ points in their first FBS game and never looked back, yet 4 D Backs and 5 guys in the front 7 transferred to P4 schools.
