Apparently the sticking point in the YoutubeTV is that they want to be able to offer premium sports packages ie espn+ within the app, so their subscribers don’t have to leave the app to watch those games. And Disney does this for free with Hulu, a direct competitor. Honestly, if they don’t get it, Google has a strong anti trust case (in a shocking reversal of the norm).
It was interesting to me to learn a few weeks ago that this had not become a part of all of Disney's carriage deals over the past year. Charter, for example, got this for Spectrum subscribers more than a full year ago!
