For the past few years, we’ve had a problem re: the College Football Playoff rankings releases:
We think they’re very interesting, but
We don’t want to make our regular episodes too much about the playoff, because there is actual football being played, and we’d rather focus on the players and the games than the suits sitting in a hotel conference room.
So, this year, we are trying something new: A weekly playoff rankings release live stream, starting this evening at 7 p.m. ET on our episode YouTube channel. The embed is above, and you can watch or subscribe at this link.
You may notice in the thumbnail above that I (Alex) am not with Richard, but with Jessica Smetana of “The Echoes” podcast and a variety of other sports media spots. Jessica is our good friend from our early days working together at SB Nation, and she has been one of our favorite recurring guests on SZD.
We’ve never done a livestream like this before, so we expect we’ll work out some kinks as we go. But the basic format is that we will 1) watch the rankings come in, while chatting with people in the YouTube comments and then 2) record a live episode after the top 25 is out, which we will then 3) put in everyone’s podcast feeds for your listening pleasure. See you tonight:
