Great take on QB’s and eligibility, Alex. I’d even go as far to say you get four years and that’s it, but I get that won’t ever happen.

Alex, I recommend educating yourself by reading Madison's Notes on the Constitutional Convention. You might learn why DC is not supposed to be a state

Listening to Godfrey talk about the mourning of the SEC on CBS being publicly wrapped around a thirty second ditty (for lack of better terms) I can't help but feel like I can give a comparable: the oh so famous Hockey Night in Canada theme song moving from CBC to TSN, and subsequently heralding HNIC from distinct and unique Saturday night (and playoff time) Canadian sports institution to effective national Sportsnet broadcast that only gets simulcasted to free TV because of tradition. I guess that is what I see in the SEC on CBS's death - the death of the belief that sports can be a sort of story telling moment that needs no or very little words, and instead simply as a vehicle for content filling on prime time slots, and a sort of loss of that innocence, if it makes sense.

I am going to practically beg here and say that if you are an SZD listener and live in Delaware, reach out. Since moving up here, I can't find ANYONE to talk CFB with.

I don’t hate Alex’s qb take wrt development. Like, if Oregon can land Ward or a legit stud, great, but I don’t want to see some Jag brought in above Ty.

Godfrey is killing me every time he tries to appear hip and young, in this instance in name dropping Young Dolph and some other rapper. Please remember your Colorado + Key Glock rant. What a funny blind spot.

I definitely will miss the SEC on CBS, my childhood despite not being a hardcore College Football fan at the time was filled with watching it despite being in New York City and it has, as Alex said, really made me want to go visit some of those SEC stadiums. However, I will say that (possibly biased as both of my rooting interests are either in the Big Ten or will be in '24) I am excited for that top-tier CBS production and letting the game breathe to be at big games in the Big Ten. Their whiteout production this year was incredible and I hope they get to do The Game soon as I'm excited to see what they do for that. Plus, the jingle I'm sure at some point might feel normal on Big Ten games.

The weird part for me is that I believe ESPN has the potential for top-tier production and letting the atmosphere breathe but they just don't nail it as often as CBS does, for example the 2017 Clemson/VT game stands out to me as one that was absolutely incredibly done and really sells the environment at Tech, but that doesn't occur for all of the games on ESPN and interested why that ends up happening.

Godfrey's point about the SEC acting as if they didn't actively make this choice reminds me of the way in which social media accounts of corporations have tried to become less corporate but ultimately are still just trying to do so to sell you their product. Wendy's didn't suddenly start tweeting random stuff because they want to, but because they think it will make you more likely to get Wendy's.
